Anunciados os finalistas do Prêmio Aga Khan de Arquitetura 2019

Os 20 projetos finalistas do Prêmio Aga Khan de Arquitetura 2019 foram anunciados. Oriundos de 16 países, os edifícios selecionados concorrerão a um fundo de prêmios de US$ 1 milhão que reconhece todas as partes envolvidas na concepção, projeto e realização de um projeto construído.

Fundado em 1977 por Aga Khan IV, o prêmio destaca projetos de relevância ou significado para as principais sociedades islâmicas. Esse enfoque pode parecer paradoxalmente amplo, mas é voltado para o reconhecimento de projetos que atendem às necessidades funcionais, mas também “estimulam e respondem às aspirações culturais”. Projetos que inventivamente usam materiais locais e/ou tecnologias apropriadas recebem atenção especial na esperança de que inspirem esforços igualmente criativos em outras localidades.
